About Chris and Carol Woodley
The dream of planting a mission church in the Philippines came to us, the Woodley family in 1998 when we took a short vacation after years of migrating in the United States. I, Christopher J. Woodley Sr. served in the United States Air Force for 10 ½ years active duty and 3 ½ years Air National Guard. While stationed at Kirkland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico, a young man by the name of Jeff Bullock knocked on my barracks door and shared the gospel with me. On January 6, 1980, I trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior.
Afterwards, I received orders to my next duty assignment which was Clark Air Force Base, Angeles City, Philippines where I met my dear wife, Carolina. She is a Filipino National and was raised Catholic. A serviceman stationed at Osan Air Force Base, Osan, South Korea was sent TDY (Temporary Duty Assignment) to the Philippines and handed Carolina a gospel tract, “God’s Simple Plan of Salvation.” On October 23, 1983, my wife put her faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Shortly thereafter, we met in a mission church started by an American missionary. We were married on December 18, 1984.
I served my tour of duty in the Philippines from 1983-1988. We then received orders to our next base, Bergstrom Air Force Base, Austin Texas. It was during this time that the Lord spoke to our hearts for full time service. I separated from the Air Force in May 1988 and enrolled at a Bible College.
Acts 20:24, “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish the course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”
What we believe
Our Philosophy: We value every child’s uniqueness and share that uniqueness to the world.
Our Mission: To provide basic education, livelihood programs and trainings that will develop technical skills and hone their talents and engage the students in activities that will encourage them to serve the Lord God.
Our Vision: To give the underprivileged deaf access to education, an exposure to Christian values and a perspective of Filipino identity.
To produce God-fearing, socially-conscious, and proactive member of the community.
To produce graduates who are confident and vision filled individuals.
To raise up teachers, missionaries, and Christian workers to teach and disciple so that the vision, culture, and discipline of learning would continue.
To teach and train the deaf technical skills which they can use as practical life skills.
We believe in our enduring intentions, and that is to see our deaf come to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is our goal for each deaf student to glorify the Lord God through Christ-centered education. Our deaf students are taught the fundamentals skills of learning- the ability to read, to communicate through sign language and written communication, to understand and use basic principles of mathematics and science in their daily lives. They are also learning the technical knowledge and skills as life tools that will help them become creative and productive members of their community.
